My New Comic Room

After 2 years of moving into our new house, I finally got my comic room done. I got about 9 Billy bookcases from Ikea and screwed them against the wall. I still need to do a little more work. I haven't put up my pictures yet and I want to get a couple of ledges to put toys/ busts on. I told my wife that I need more busts and she gave me that "look" :)

My wife's idea is to use magazine holders for half of my collection so that I have easy access. I have about 14 long boxes in our air condition storage room. I need to replace the lights in the room at some point, as well.

You can see my stack of books I still need to read!!

Close up of a great Jamal Igle sketch that Bob picked up for me at the CGSS when I couldn't make it at the last minute (Thanks again Bob).

Very nice!!!

I like the look you have going, it's way less cluttered than my room, so you can see & appreciate the stuff you do have.

Kind of classy looking!!!

Thanks for the comments guys.

I do prefer a less cluttered room to a clutter room. You see that in our whole house. Although, I wouldn't mind a few more things. I did not put out all my figures at the moment, but I really want to get a few more busts and art work. I also think I might buy my first statue.

My wife helped out as well with some of the ideas, but I was the one that thought of a red wall and dark brown/black bookcases. I wanted the room to be different, besides the fact that it has comics :)

I made sure that I design the room so that I have enough "extra" space to for "growth"!!!

My wife thinks I should either remove the doors or put in French doors so people could see the room when they go downstairs in the basement. I said there is no way I am getting rid of my doors. I trust my kids but I don't trust my kids' friends when they come over!!

Very nice, I need to re-work my room one of these days. Now that my LCS has started to manufacture their own drawer boxes, I can start stocking up again. That shipping that always scared me off can now be spent on getting bags and boards.

Did you get the Lighted cabinet from Ikea as well? I'll be looking for something like that down the track myself

Yes I did. But with the Billy bookcase, you have to drill the holes yourself. What we did was also was put a hole in one of the lower bookcases where the outlet is so that I we have access to it. You can't see in in the picture because then I covered it up.

Your room looks good Hassan! I'm getting lots of idea for my own comic book room. I'm book marking this thread for design reference :)
