The Sept. Previews call will be on Friday Sept 12th at 5pm Pacific / 6pm Mountain / 7pm Central / 8pm Eastern. (A week later than usual this month, due to some timing conflicts on the weekend of the 5th).

As always, get on Skype around the start time (or join any time after, the call can run 4 hours of rousing comics chat) and look for thejohnmayo or BobBretall and message them to get joined into the call.

Submissions for the Previews Spotlight #011 show should be in by the end of Saturday Sept. 13th. Of course you can start sending in submissions as soon as you have them done. Sending them in early is appreciated as it give John and I a bit more time to plan out the episode.

Remember: We encourage anyone to send in a short audio clip where they can talk about any book that's coming out in the upcoming Previews that they are really excited about.

Tips on how to record a clip can be found here

Just finished listening to the podcast...

for the gent with the "MoviePhone" voice...

LOS ANGELES - Don LaFontaine, the man who popularized the catch phrase "In a world where..." and lent his voice to thousands of movie trailers, has died. He was 68. LaFontaine died Monday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center from complications in the treatment of an ongoing illness, said Vanessa Gilbert, his agent.

LaFontaine made more than 5,000 trailers in his 33-year career while working for the top studios and television networks.

In a rare on-screen appearance in 2006, he parodied himself on a series of national television commercials for a car insurance company where he played himself telling a customer, "In a world where both of our cars were totally under water..."

listening to the podcast.

Re David Michelinie, I believe it's pronounced "mikle-eye-knee" and not "mishell-een-ee" (IIRC, I met him back in '82 or so and he mentioned that it rhymed with "pickle-my-knee").
