It's getting around that time of year when John & I start thinking about the best of comics in 2011 for our "Year in Review" episode. We'll start putting our thoughts down and would love to see what you folks consider to be your favorites of the year too.

Keep in mind that there are a lot of creators out there and they often do many different projects over the course of the year. When putting down a creator's name, please indicate what project(s) they did in 2011 that made you put them down as one of your favorites.

Favorite creator-owned project by a solo creator - Stan Sakai's Usagi Yojimbo (Dark Horse)

Favorite Overall Publisher - DC (getting slightly less for the $2.99 price (in the overwhelming majority of cases) I get 12 titles a month post DCnewU

Least Favorite Overall Publisher - Marvel

I had to fight back w/ their practices & stook up for change so I started by dropping Amazing Spider-Man in issues. I get SOME Amazing spidey arcs but not all of them these days. X-Men Forever 2 ended its run in January so they lost that money. I dropped Uncanny completely at the end of last year & still have not looked back. Now I just read FF/FF 2.0 & Daredevil regularly plus Criminal minis when they come out.

Indies -- I still love them but I buy thoses in HC or trades now. Usagi Yojimbo I get in issues + trades of older stuff . Walking Dead I ended the practice of getting in issues after reading issue #84 plus later only getting the HCs later on (aka double dipping) & now I ONLY get it in those 12 issue HCs. I get my regular Walking Dead fix from AMC. Next year, I will be getting Brubaker/Phillips's Fatale a chance from Image a chance for at least the first two issues.
