Lady Death .... worth catching up on?

I notice Boundless is starting a new series for Lady Death. I've read nothing for this character but on the surface it sounds interesting. I see they're releasing trades collecting earlier tales. Do you think this is worth getting or should someone just start reading the new series?

From what I've read about Lady Death it seems the character has moved around a lot. So I don't even know if reading those trades will be consistent with this new series.

I know that (creator) Brian Pulido is a very stand-up guy and fun to talk to at conventions. I try and hit up his panels when I can because he's good to deliver a lot of straight talk about the industry and how to approach it (given that he rode high on the crest of the 90s boom and while I won't say "fell" with it, certain had a diminished presence afterward).

I never actively read Lady Death, in as much as I loves me some cheesecake I'm not a huge goth and brimstone fan, and that seemed to be the general vibe of the series. If you are, though, this might be worth checking out.

I thought it looked pretty interesting too. I just added it to my pull list. The only other thing I have ever read from Pulido is Evil Ernie, which I got a kick out of.

I read the zero issue that was handed out at SanDiego last year it was OK. It's a reboot so no prior knowledge/reading is really necessary.

I have subsequent issues but they're on my "to read" pile. Once I get through the books I have on my list to record an upcoming BI Spotlight episode, I'll read the Lady Death and come back here with some info.

I am enjoying it so far. It has the Crossgen Lady Death fiavor and if you like medieval stories you may enjoy it.
