From WW #701:
There is certainly cause for some character OTHER than Diana to have this sentiment, but it's not a WW I'm thrilled about reading.I'm going to kill them. I'm going to kill ALL of them.

She has almost always been enough of a "warrior" for me to let that slide. While this isn't Wonder Woman, at least is is clearly not Wonder Woman. The storyline provides a reason for her to act differently. No such reason exists over in Superman to explain or justify his actions.BobBretall wrote:True, but just expressing the sentiment out loud is disturbing for WW, but then again, this is not WW.....JohnMayo wrote:Well, so far, she hasn't actually killed anybody. That counts for something.
Guys...this is JMS. He's getting to the CORE of the character. He's stripping each of them down to their essence and putting them in real-world situations. WW and Supes are out of touch, clearly! I bet they don't even know what Twitter is!JohnMayo wrote: She has almost always been enough of a "warrior" for me to let that slide. I guess I just never realized what a huge jerk Superman was at his CORE.mikemclarty wrote:Guys...this is JMS. He's getting to the CORE of the character. To be fair, a lot of people are liking the new direction. In general, it seems DC was successful, most people I have heard of liking it fell into "I never liked the character before" camp, so appealing to new readers.Webhead wrote:Boy....
after reading this thread it makes me glad I'm not currently reading either title.
When I heard that JMS was turning Superman into Kwai Chang Kal-El I knew it was not for me. I like my Superman to act like a Super man. I have no doubt that some people are liking the new direction and I hope the sales for Superman increase but I never been the biggest Superman fan in the first place, so it takes something big to get me to buy Superman.BobBretall wrote:To be fair, a lot of people are liking the new direction. Unfortunately, in the process they lost some (not all) of the readers who liked the characters already.
So JMS resorted to reusing a line from that Ninja Assassin movie he scripted?BobBretall wrote:From WW #701:I'm going to kill them. I'm going to kill ALL of them.
That's actually a really good idea. Too bad the powers that be @ DC weren't thinking like this.yensid4disney wrote:Now my take is that DC missed a golden opportunity hear. If they had decided to us this version of Wonder Woman as the Earth One Wonder Woman I think a lot more people not only would have bought this, but would be greatly enjoying this. They could have then kept the "regular" Wonder Woman and all of those fans happy.
