Hi there,
Ugh, this is embarrassing.
First, let me thank you for ordering Detective Comics using the BATMANROCKS coupon code.
Unfortunately, that code was set up incorrectly, as it was supposed to take an additional $1 off your subscription order, not $11.99.
We have refunded your order for Detective Comics. We’re really sorry this happened, and while we can’t fulfill your order, we would like to offer you the opportunity to get the Detective Comics you wanted at a lower-than-anywhere-the-world deal.
and enter coupon code BATMAN3OFF to take $3 off the already-low price.
That's (bleep) and the sign of a bad company, imho. They screwed up - sure. But they should stand behind their website and eat the loss. Instead, they're just wasting your time for their mistake.

I figured it would be canceled. As stated, they are a small company, and I'm sure in the fine print it says they have the right to cancel orders in the case of errors. At least they compensated, which I assume is taken out of their cut. Not the first time a company has done this not the last.

I can't seem to get that link to work to take advantage of the subscription. Even in the email they sent me.[/quote]
Doesn't work for me either. Maybe it was only good a limited time. Have you sent them an e-mail telling them you'd like to take them up on their offer & the link is broken?

Yah..I guess I can buy the "small company" excuse - but still, its really not good business practice (especially for a small company that want to become a big company) to not stand behind your word (regardless of the fine print). It's penny wise and pound foolish.
Got my first issue in the mail today, Action Comics #13. This hit the racks Oct 3rd, so a 12 day delay. If this keeps up for all issues it means no reviews of books I have subs to on the WCS.
Also, it came with the top right corner bent. OK for a $1 comic, but not VF/NM by any stretch. The packing is kind of flimsy, the backing board is barely thicker than a piece of paper, I can't see it offering any protection of any kind, it's basically a piece of paper for your address info to be printed on.
I got my first as well - Batman #13. It showed up in pristine condition, but I believe that was due to the cardboard cutout folded over this particular issue. The actual backing "board" doesn't look like it will offer much protection. They do have the words "Please Do Not Bend" on the back of the page in fairly good lettering, but as with all periodicals it's on the whim of the carrier.
That said - HOLY CRAP! - this was one of the best issues of Batman I've ever read. Snyder is really knocking this book out of the park and giving me a Joker I'm actually scared of again.

Many of my subscribed comics come in a bit damaged. Personally I don't mind. The resale value of the comics is less than I paid for them anyway, and as long as I can read them I'm cool with it. I would be annoyed if they were folded to fit them in the mailbox. That's what I remember happening years and years ago.
I'm more annoyed I ended up with some overlap on the subs I had that were ending or I also ordered on DCBS. Nobody's fault but my own - and really just a minor annoyance. I'll probably just toss the issues in with my EOC Christmas box.
I find it amusing that the resubscribe prices are higher than I can get them from DCBS. Well, amusing isn't exactly accurate. I wish I could just subscribe to my favorite comics and not have to fill out an order from every month but the savings equals several additional titles.

As I said, the condition is fine for a $1 comic, I'm more annoyed by the street date +12 it took to arrive at my home.

Agree on all points here!
I was happy w/the delivery time, too - didn't Bat #13 come out Weds 12/10? I had it at my house by Thurs 12/11 (altho DCBS had it there by Fri 12/12! lol! Turns out when I noticed that Batman #13 wasn't on my DCBS shipping list, I wrote to them and asked them to add it, forgetting that I had subscribed! I also ordered #14, and 2 months worth of JL. Happily, they were willing to cancel the other 3 issues from my orders! Great service!).
