Not sure how batman can have minor changes given that he effects a number of other books ... but regardless, I don't mind changes, even big changes. However if DC is thinking of ignoring their history, I believe they are doing themselves a great injustice. A DC world without a Golden age isn't as rich and I feel less compelling to explore. Maybe I'm a minority, but it's really hard to ignore things that have gone before. Revisionist history has always kinda ... sucked ... in comics as well as in real life.

My oldest daughter is 10 years old, about the same age that I started to read comics on a regular basis. She reads a few monthly titles today, but I might introduce her to main DCU with this reboot. BTW, her Batgirl is already Barbara Gordon because of the Batman cartoon.

Another interesting note, both of my daughters always felt that the old Wonder Woman costume was "inappropriate" for a hero. "Daddy, why is wearing a swimming suit to fight bad guys?"

Of course, I would read any comic book from the main DCU line before I give them to my daughter just to make sure they are appropriate.

By them ignoring it, at least for now, it doesn't mean it didn't happen. However, telling stories about a whole bunch of guys in the 80s probably doesn't appeal to a younger audience.

On the plus side, we won't be seeing that horrible new Alan Scott costume anymore.

Only problem I see with that is I think the majority, not sure how much of a majority, tends NOT to be a younger audience i.e. it's older folk like me. While comic companies need to attract younger readers they'd be foolish to alienate a large body of their current readers.

And maybe they won't. We still don't know a lot of the details of this renumbering. Do they stop at 52 books ? Release x number of mini-series maybe with stories about heroes who have been forgotten ? Go back to old school JSA annual appearances in the JLA books ? Don't know but given the track record of previous relaunches at the big two companies, they usually come back to their status quo eventually.

And yeah, hope never to see that new Alan Scott outfit. Not crazy about the new Hawkman or Mr. Terrific redesigns either but I do tend to be a 'stick in the mud' when it comes to the traditional uniforms.

George Perez stated that he is doing layouts for Superman with Jesus Merino as finisher. That is awesome. Jesus Merino is a great artist on his own but used to be Carlos Pacheco's inker. And to be honest, Carlos Pacheco's art hasn't looked the same since Merino went on his own.

Confirmation that the first story in Action takes place in the past. Also the time passage between the formation of the JL and the present is five years.

I added the "real' cover for Frankenstein and the GL Corps covers to the DCnU sticky-post.

I also added in some links to creators talking about some of the books.

There's a hefty interview with Scott Lobdell at Bleeding Cool

it says a non dcu character (Wildstorm or Milestone) will be in Teen Titans.

Didio says:
As for JSA, we have decided to rest this concept while we devote our attention on the launch of the three new Justice League series.

Still awaiting to see the DCBS price for the combo before making a commitment to physical vs physical+e-copy

A question I have: is the Superman reboot going to modify the new superman to be different enough from the Siegel lawsuit ?

I was possibly going to skip Teen Titans - but this interview makes me excited to read it. His explanation of Red Robin - too cool! :)

Maybe there will be something different in the actual Diamond solicits, but the on-line solicits only mention a physical/digital combo pack for Justice League #1, not for any of the other books.

No amount of modification will let them evade an existing lawsuit as long as the character is called "Superman" and is an evolution of the character by Siegel/Shuster.

My prediction is that in the end, after bleeding Siegel's family with legal fees and court delays for years, Warner Bros. will end up giving them whatever $$ they have to to settle the suit.

One casualty from this relaunch appears to be the loss of Bryan Q Miller on any of the new books. Hopefully DC has some projects with his name on it. His Batgirl was really a good comic.
