DC:
I do not read enough DC for it to be fair.
Marvel:
Writing - Matt Fraction (Hawkeye, Thor, FF)
Art - David Aja (Hawkeye, more for the storytelling than the raw art)
Character/Team - Hawkeye
Storyline/Title - First issues of Hawkeye if that does not count Avengers Vs. X-Men.
Indie:
Writing - Nick Spencer (Morning Glories)
Art - Rob Guillory (Chew) His art is the best reason to pick up that book.
Character/Team - Sublime (Hypernaturals)
Storyline/Title - Cobra Command (G.I. Joe)
Web-comic- N/A
Favorite creator-owned project by a solo creator - Planetoid

FAVORITES OF 2012
DC:
Writing - Grant Morrison (Action Comics)
Art - Ivan Reis (Aquaman)
Character/Team - Jonah Hex
Storyline/Title - Court of Owls (Batman)
Note: I have not purchased another DC52 since the Zero issues. The Zero issue killed the momentum for me.
Marvel:
Writing - Jason Aaron (Thor)
Art - Esad Ribic (Thor)
Character/Team - Fantastic Four (still the best team Marvel is publishing)
Storyline/Title - A World Without Gods (Thor)
Jason Aaron is accomplishing with Thor and similar feat Geoff Johns is accomplishing with Aquaman - making me want to read about the character
Indie:
Writing - Joshua Dysart (Harbinger)
Art - Patrick Zircher (Shadowman)
Character/Team - Archer & Armstrong (a well done presentation to the original VH1 A&A, reminds me of the original Defenders..a non-team team, but no conventional "Super" or "Meta" heroes)
Storyline/Title - All of the New Valiant Entertainment books
Web-comic- none
Favorite creator-owned project by a solo creator - none
Favorite Overall Publisher - Valiant Entertainment
2013 will be Valiant's year for me. Valiant has some the best written titles and the art is great (IMO). Looking forward to return of many of the Valiant titles. Unlike DC's New 52 and Marvel's NOW, Valiant is recreating a cohesive comic universe, which so far does not require reading all the titles, but I think reading all of the titles will provides great entertainment.
Listening to Bob and John over the critique various publishers on various missteps (too many variants, too many titles of one character, too many events, poor editing etc.). Valiant appears to be comic fans turned comic creators with a real pulse for how to satisfy the comic fan (or themselves).
