I just upped my pledge from $15 to $25. You only get the bookmark at $25, but what sold it for me is that basically for $10, you get a sketch.
That's what I went in for as well. For $25 a book and a sketch inside are worth it, to me anyhow.
He's at 567 backers at the $25 level which includes the free sketch. That's ALOT of sketches!

hmmm. At 10 minutes per sketch, with a 2 minute break between sketches, that's 5 sketches an hour. So 113 hours of sketching. If he did if 8 hours a day, every day, it would take 2 weeks.

just sayin'....!

I had been resisting this one because I'm not a fan of baseball, and I'm not familiar with Stokoe's art, but the little preview video finally sold me.

I'm not a fan of baseball either, but Stokoe's art is an automatic buy for me

I'm not expecting even a 10-minute sketch. It'll likely be a few swipes with a Sharpie to create the headshot of the lead character. A signature. And on to the next one.

And if I'm wrong - 2 weeks isn't that much longer to wait.

Well, that assumes that he drops everything he's doing and does nothing but sketches for 2 weeks. That's doubtful. And even assuming its 5 minutes per sketch, that'd be a straight week of sketches. Point being, I wonder if this guy realizes what he's gotten himself into! lol I would assume it'll take him several months to meet this commitment.

Sullivan's Sluggers reached $65k & is now an Omnibus-sized 200 pg HC for $30.

5 days to go. If it reaches $70k it will upgrade to include a 3-page fold-out of this:

That's awesome. Hope one day we'll get a Orc Stain omnibus HC to put on shelf next to it!

Can I just say how much I love and hate this thread at the same time?

Love all these great books I'm "discovering" that I probably wouldn't have known about otherwise.

Love that I'm helping a fellow artist realize their dream.

Hate the credit card bill I'm gonna be getting! :)

EDIT: AND......$70k has been passed, we have the fold out!

Here's one, not sure if anyone else is interested -- it's for the volume 2 HC of the Modest Medusa web comic.

I was going to support v1 last year but I somehow forgot about it until it was over.

Now I see that one of the v2 levels is for v1 and v2 both signed and sketched. Sold!

Modest Medusa is pretty fun and cute. It's about a 5 year old Medusa who shows up in some 20 (30?) something's toliet: www.modestmedusa.com

Here's the kickstarter: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/232 ... a-season-2

Now $83k was passed, so we get a 200-pg Omnibus-sized HC, with a 3-page fold-out, a slip-case, ribbon book mark, and a print. All for $30.

PLUS they have now donated $1000 to Hero Initiative.

I just upped my order to get 2 copies, I'll give one as a gift......
