Boy listened to the podcast panel today. John from WB really likes to talk and I think he likes to listen to himself talk!! Reminds me why I don't subscribe to his podcast.

* Walking by Joey Calafiore's booth, I saw he had a pile of "Cheap Art! $5-$20/page!!" Looking thru that I got 4 pages (#1,3,4,5) from Catman's Origin in Secret Six #21 for $50 total for all 4 pages.
Ok, now I'm jealous.

Dave gave me a call but we were not able to synch up.

DC booth was very crazy during con, I spent most of my time with the smaller publishers.
That's my boy!

Listening to the podcast panel now.

Good times at the con! I had a great time. Bob, did you ever track down a Starro mask?

Does anyone have one of those free Comic-Con newsletters for Sunday? That is the one thing I forgot to pick up. They list the Masquerade winners in Sunday's edition and I use the info for my pictures.

I'll have a proper con rundown later but here are some pics I took of some cosplayers....

Also, there is a rumor that Preview Night was SOLD OUT for on-site 4-day registration last Sunday. Can anyone confirm? I know I bought my 2011 on Saturday.

jeez. I think I bought my tix Thurs or Friday.

crazy that it would sell out before they've even publicly released any tix. You pretty much had to be there in order to get tickets, didn't you?

Geez, I didn't even see where they were selling for 2011. I'm going to be pissed if they sold out Preview night on-site.

Press or Pro gets you in to Preview night too. BUT one thing I saw this year that may catch on is a ban on selling to non-attendee badges for exclusives on preview night. The Mattel booth had an explicit policy that any pro, exhibitor, or press badge would have to wait until Thurs to buy exclusives.

Didn't see any exclusives I had to have this year. Nicki and I thought the Hot Wheels invisible jet was cool until we found out there was no jet in it. Would have been a funny promo to hand out, but don't know about paying for it, especially on eBay.

The last year I went I lucked out and was able to be first in line for a few of the exclusives I wanted because of being a pro/exhibitor. I walked by the booths each morning just as they would announce the show floor was open and beat the crowds. I was able to get a set of the Peanuts buttons that way, plus the Hot Wheels Batman 3-pak, some of the Flash Gordon figures (with Alex Ross sketchbook), and a Batman figure (they sold out of the Joker one preview night).

What pissed me off was seeing some dealers (and one really shady on I know) walking away with cases of exclusives in the morning before the doors opened. That sucked.

Yeah, there is something going on with that, because I always see people with big piles of the exclusives that they are just going to re-sell, as opposed to them going into the hands of fans who want one for themselves.

I really think it's out of hand. The people who make the exclusives just want to make their $$ off of them, so they price them high and let people/dealers buy piles of them so they can get rid of them at inflated prices.

BTW: The only exclusive I really wanted was the Mighty Mugg Iron Man, but I didn't want to jump through the hoops (go somewhere upstairs to get a ticket, THEN go downstairs and wait in a long line) so I just skipped it.

I talked with Dave and Micah after his signing at the DC booth. Had a great time talking with them for a bit.

Wow. That was fast.

They were doing this upstairs under the sails.

I'm okay with that since I never get the exclusives anyway.

Geez. I guess I better put in for one of those "Pro" passes you can get, or I may *never* make it back to San Diego. :(
