Absolutely, both publishers are guilty.
It is usually Marvel talking trash, so it really stuck out to me when I saw someone at DC finally smack talk a bit publicly.

I have no problem with Earth 2. "Confusion" being attributed to Earth 2 is blown way out of proportion. I had no problem keeping different earths straight as a kid.
Heck, go over to Marvel & look at the Ultimate books. People seem to have no problem with that. Same thing with their kids books that are not the normal 616 characters. Or Thor The Mighty Avenger.
The JSA characters have their roots in WW II, I'd just as soon keep that alive & also not confuse matters with different versions of the same characters running around on the same earth.

Well, DC has been know to kill off characters, just maybe not every quarter. They "killed" Batman and made quite a to-do with the Return of Bruce Wayne.
And, lest we forget this month's solicit of Unwritten 30.5, I think they are trying out the decimal pointed comics too.

Head over to dc.wikia.com and do a search on "Earth". They called it "infinite earths" for a reason. Hopefully this time they will stop at 2.
I also believe as comic book fans we are usually able to keep these different universes straight, but remember the latest "headlines" regarding Spider-Man. Most media outlets just referred to the changes to "Spider-Man", not the ultimate universe Spider-Man". I don't think the people at large understand that there is more than one version of the characters that they have heard of.
DC is trying to attract new readers. I think it would be better to it to just the one universe. I think they would be better served to have the JSA in the same universe as the rest of their heroes. WWII happened in the main DC universe too, right?

See, I'm of a different mind on this. As an old fart some of my favorite stories were when the JLA would cross over with the JSA. Both were on different earths and when they met up it was due to some super-spectacular true-to-earth Crisis that required some dimensional hopping. If this is an eye toward getting back to that? Great! I do hope they'll wait a few years before doing one, as it'll help both teams establish themselves.
While the idea of multiple earths may be confusing for some (and I'm speculating this is only a precursor to Earth F (Fawcett) for the Marvel Family showing up), I'd say it's equally if not more confusing to have one Earth with three people bearing the moniker Flash, two Wonder Women, a Superman and a Captain Marvel trying to figure out who is more powerful, etc.

I agree, It would be nice if the JSA did not contain the same heroes as the main DC universe. I know that when I started following DC a little more seriously I had to no a little work to decipher that one.

I haven't read Flashpoint so I don't know who she is, but that's a cool idea to put her in all the #1s.

She appeared on 1 page in Flashpoint #5 (technically 2-pages since she was overlapping the fold on a 2-page spread)..... She seems to have played a mysterious/cryptic role in the resolution of Flashpoint....
Now you know as much about her as everyone who read Flashpoint....
BUT, it's cool that we'll see more of her......Will be interesting to see how the story plays out.

I saw someone else say "Ahh, there's their reset button". I don't know, despite comics and how they do retcon, I can't see DC going back for a long time, if ever.
I wonder if anything does come up with this woman, what title will it be told in? You'd think they'd have to select a title, or maybe create a mini-series ... or maybe something else.

I'm guessing the key book will be Justice League.

with the news of early diamond level sellouts, I've made sure my name is for the following from my LCS on Wednesday extra from my mail order pulls.
Men Of War
Static Shock
OMAC
Animal Man
Swamp Thing
(I've got Stormwatch coming Mail Order in this weeks #1's)
I love the look of the characters that have been appearing on John Rozum's blog, so Static is favourite to make it to the permanent pull list (on top of the 7 that are already on there)

And here are all the panels (13 of them) where she appears in the books out on Sept 7th:

The only one I couldn't find for some reason was Static Shock. I went through page by page and somehow missed her.
