Fables Deluxe Edition Vol 1

Post by HassanT »

Did anyone pick this one up? How is the quality of the HC? Any extras?

I have all the Fables in trades since volume 4, but I wouldn't mind getting the first couple HCs. I am just curious how the HC compares with the trades.

I like the HC. The paper is glossy, and the color stands out ... brighter than the TPB. There are few extra art pages. I got a 35% discount off cover price from my LCS (same as Amazon discount). Like other Deluxe editions, the book size is bigger than TPB and looks very nice on my bookshelf :)

I saw it in the store, it's pretty much the same as the "Y: The Last Man" hardcovers..... (e.g. nice, but fairly standard HC)

Thanks for the feedback guys. I will just stick with my original plan and stick with the trades. As a collector, I want all of the collections to be similar. That is why I didn't get the Swamp Thing Deluxe Edition. I have majority of the trades and that would mean I have to start all over :)

This is my first exposure to Fables I loved this HC. I would say this HC might sell out fast!

Well, I finally broke down and got the first Fables Deluxe Edition. I love the package. The paper is better quality than the normal Vertigo trade and it was great to see the art in over-sized format.

I read the first story arc in the Deluxe Edition, which was the first trade. I haven't read this story in years. It was interesting to go back to the book at the beginning and see how all the characters have progress in the book.

I think I am going to double dip and continue to get Fables in the Deluxe Edition.
