HEADS UP! Life & Times of Scrooge McDuck
I am seeing this solicited from Boom! in the August Previews, and for folks who have never checked this out, I cannot recommend in highly enough. The definitive Scrooge story (and this from someone who has read all the Barks stuff.....but Don Rosa is a worthy successor to "the Good Duck Artist").....
There's a big ad for this on p. 225 of the August Previews, it's a $24.99 HC, but DCBS has it on special discount for only $13.74!!!!
I will point out that they are advertising this as "For the First time in Hardcover". This is not true. I'm looking at a HC of this on my shelf right now. This may be the first mass-market HC, though, as the one I have is a signed & #'d edition of 1000.
In any event, if you have ever wondered why people talk about Uncle Scrooge as a "really cool" character, then you should get this book. For $13.74, you can't go wrong......

You know, your statement just made me notice that Boom is doing this as a Volume 1 & Volume 2.JC wrote:I pre-ordered volumes 1&2 from Amazon.ca based on your recommendation Bob
When I got the Limited HC years ago from Gemstone it was all in a single volume, so I was just assuming it was a single HC.

Yeah.....it would have been nice to have it all in a single volume, but look at it this way, in one volume it would have been $50 (I paid more than that for the one I got many moons ago), so getting it in two $25 packages is not so bad, less individual "sticker shock"Master of the Mystic Arts wrote:I'm thinking about buying this for myself and my nephew, but I'm annoyed that they're splitting it up into two volumes. Maybe this is a good time for me to place my first DCBS order to get the big discount.
