The flagship title (JLA) has another fill-in :(
Yeah, I'm done. I love the JLA, or at least I want to, but I've had enough. I can't even remember the last time I really enjoyed an issue in this current series, anyway.

I think I'm also dropping JSA until the regular creative team starts, and I'll just buy that mini which looks good.

I am going to have to reevaluate Justice League of America from DC. Either McDuffie's hands are being tied and or he can't think of great stories to tell with these characters. To me it is as if he gets to the cusp of telling a really awesome story only to pull back it just kind of be there.

Whatever the cause, it certainly isn't the great writing that I know McDuffie is capable of. I loved the start of his JLA run but I'm currently a bit underwhelmed by the series.

Even though it's a fill in, I am intrigued to see a JLA story by Len Wein. He wrote one of my all-time favorite JLA stories way back when.

Marvel posted some previews and Wolverine 75 is turning into Dark Wolverine 75. Um, still no end to Old Man Logan???? Damn thing really should have been its own mini.

Apparently Marvel announced at some con that "Old Man Logan" will be finishing up in a stand-alone one shot to be solicited at a later date and will not conclude in the Wolverine title at all.

I guess that means I am dropping Wolverine for good.

I missed that announcement too. Still, what a joke Millar/McNiven are with lateness. It has to be McNiven but damn, his funny book pictures do look pretty!!

Isn't Millar's War Heroes over at Image fairly late too?

It looks like Captain America is going from issue #50 to #600 in June...

That's part of my problem, I was so excited about McDuffie taking over and it's been really disappointing. I don't think it's all his fault with the crossovers, along with having to shake up the membership, but at this point I just don't care anymore. And I'm not someone who likes to piss all over comics...I really want this book to be good, but it just isn't happening.

I will add that I haven't been crazy about the art, either. I can enjoy some cheesecake, but Wonder Woman's costume and some of the poses the women are in are ridiculous. The men look a bit silly at times, too...Superman's face always bugs me. Especially with the guy they brought in who draws just like Benes.

It's just sad to see DC drop the ball on their most consistant seller.

I have been reading JSA in HC. I am gonna acutally pick the Jerry Ordway issues for fear of them not getting collected. Ever since I picked up my first issue of All-Star Sqaurdron I am all over anything Ordway-JSA related. Even if these are throw away stories, a part of me will be happy.

That's cool. I don't mean to disrespect Ordway...I'm enjoying his artwork right now, and I'm sure he'll write a good story. I'm just a little more budget-conscious right now than usual, and if something feels like a throw-away, I'll save the money and put it towards something else (like the JSA mini). If Ordway was going to be the regular creator, I would keep getting the book.
