Marvel declares war on Fox?

Very inserting things going on behind the scenes these days. Rumours of Marvel possibly cancelling Fantastic Four as a snub towards 20th Century Fox. Cutting back on marketing for the X-men books as the movie rights are also owned by fox. Now this story regarding toy lines to new movies.

IMHO it sounds like Marvel is in a one sided fight. Compared to the money a major movie franchise can make, losing possible promotion by not having a comic out sounds like small potatoes. This move does nothing to encourage fox to sells the rights back. In other words, Fox likely doesn't care about any snubs or lack of support from what is a small industry in comparison.

they need to get the rights all back... its going to be weird in Avengers 2 when they refer to Quicksiver as one of the 'miracles' because they cant say mutants, and its another guy playing Quicksilver instead of the one we just saw play him really well...

Cancelling a comic book because it might promote a movie does nothing to the movie studio. Putting Fantastic Four on hiatus because of corporate politics would only annoy the comic book fans. Hopefully this won't happen.

Read an interesting article not long ago that said why it was good marvel didn't have the movie rights to Spidey and X-men. The argument was if they did back when the studio first opened it would likely have made movies with Spiderman and X-men first and not taken a chance on for at the time were less "bankable" characters such as Iron man and Captain America. Therefore we might have missed out on some great movies and Marvel might have missed out on elevating in the public the awareness and interest in characters outside Spidey and x-men.

I don't know when the main source seems to be Rob Liefield I am not sure I can take the story seriously. I mean there are X-Men in the general Marvel Universe line of toys on stores now. The biggest thing which may have killed a toy line was the lack of a cartoon series for the FF and the X-Men. I am not sure if Sony and Fox own the rights to the cartoons as well as the movies.
