That would be fantastic and much appreciated. I'm not sure when I'll bump into you first. Probably at one of the panels but I don't expect you to lug it around. I can't make any of the meet ups proposed so far but I hope there might be something for Friday night or maybe a Sunday night post-con chill out at the Hyatt bar or something (although I do fly out Sunday night).

I've got the original museum catalog for the Wood exhibit, which IDW is reprinting in hardcover and it's beautiful. Lots of original art, just not full size like the Artist Edition of Wood's EC art.

This is on page 179 of the July Previews catalog from IDW. Cheaper at Amazon than thru DCBS:

Looks to have some nice Original Art reproductions......
I saw an early version of this last year at the Big Wow! Con and it was well over a hundred dollars if not even more. Same with the new John Buscema book. I'm so glad I waited.

Agreed. Even with your heads up from Wonder Con about a BORN AGAIN SDCC exclusive, I kept waiting and waiting for it to appear on their site. Finally, I just ordered the regular version not wanting to miss out altogether. It is probably just as well as I can't go hog wild on pricier exclusives with the exception of my top favorite artists like Dave Stevens.

IDW Publishing's Artist's Editions of Gil Kane's Spider-Man and Mark Schultz's 'Xenozoic Tales'

I'm excited about these artist's editions. I'll planning on getting the Xenozoic Tales artist edition. I might get the Gil Kane Spider-Man, I'll have to check out those issues first. And I was hoping IDW would solicit the Rocketeer artist edition. IDW never actually solicited it in the Previews Catalog, it was only through their site or at a Con that you could get it.

I'm gonna have to get the Gil Kane edition just because of issue #121.

Issues 100-102 are CLASSIC. Those are the big draw for me. I remember reading those off the rack. No greater surprise than the last page of #100 in all my years of reading comics.

Latest scoop on upcoming Artist's Editions from comicart-l:
Scott Dunbier wrote:Okay, here's an update...

Joe Kubert Tarzan is slated to be in stores the end of September. It will be live on the IDW site sometime next week. We had it scheduled for the week before last but of course postponed it out of respect. I have an advance copy and I'm very happy with it.

Gil Kane Spider-Man is on track for November.

Mad (from the Kurtzman edited issues) is also on track for December. It's a big one, like Wood, so delays are possible, but I think we're okay. And it's amazing.

Jack Davis is in first half of 2013, still putting it together.

And, finally, Eisner. Obviously a long delay on this one, but getting closer. It'll be (I think so) worth the wait.

Best,
Scott

Finally got my Groo AE and it is pretty sweet. I doubt I will order directly from IDW again. I would advise buying your AE directly from Bob. Instant gratification and a price to please. I also see a bunch of them at my LCS. D'oh.

I got the 2 recent portfolios as well (at the LCS). It looks like the Wrightson one fly off the shelves but see plenty of the other one.

I have an Amazon order for the Simonson Alien book which is supposed to be coming out this fall.

I am on that Kane Spider-man AE. Not sure about Tarzan. I seem to prefer the ones where I like the underlying stories and I haven't read any Tarzan. Probably pass on MAD and Davis but if I am at a con with Bob and he is selling, I will probably give in.

Titan Books cheekily put out their own "Artist Edition" book but it has been delayed. I like Titan Books quite a bit. I would recommend the hardcover collections of Charley's War.

I put my order in through Amazon for the discount but it keeps getting pushed back. Currently set for October 30 but I will see when it happens. It was pushed back previously.

The good part about buying via Amazon is we won't get billed for it until it ships.

sweet -- i was just about to post this. Still available.

The plate is numbered out of 250, not sure if that means that Joe passed while working on these or if they held some back some of them.

I just bought mine, so they are still available. I meant to log in right at 7 am Pacific but missed it by 23 min due to work.

Stupid work.

Also -- $50 from each sale is going to a memorial scholarship at the Kubert school.

I believe he was working on these when he became ill & ultimately passed away. These are likely his last original work.
