Indie comics & regular DC/Marvel both serve a purpose

Yes, Image Comics serves a purpose w/ comics even if it is not filled w/ majority of superheroes like the big 2. Dancer may not be my book, but Fatale, Usagi Yojimbo, MouseGuard (in HC I don't have the patience for issues) & Criminal (whenever the hell it returns) all serve a purpose in the industry. Yes, I enjoy Superman, Batman, Daredevil, FF & a few others as they all fill a niche for me as the reader. True you may follow an entire universe & not the other universe. Heck, you maybe just indie loyal & avoid the big 2 all together. It is okay to do so. The industry varies to suit the taste of the reader. Some are popular to the comic genre while others made away. Finally, thanks for listening to my ten cents worth on the topic.

I agree. Although recently the only purpose I can see for most Marvel and DC books is to remind me of how much I used to enjoy most Marvel and DC books.

I swear I am down to only about 3 or 4 titles a month from each of the big 2, when a few years ago ... or even as little as a few months, I was up to about 20 to 25 from each.

Image is getting a lot more greenbacks from me now, and I think that is just freakin' peachy!!

Well I buy 10 DC/Vertigo book a month, 3 from Marvel & 4 from Image/Dark Horse & a various publisher. Sometimes it is a little higher but not by much. My DC books buying as gone down from 15 at its high to 10 but my indie buying has gone up. While the new DC Universe is a big high w/ the community at large, I seek different things from my comics now.
