I went to my LCS today and they said that someone came in and purchased 14 copies of the Fantastic Four issue. 14 Copies!!!
Are people really thinking that this book will go up that much in value? Especially since a) Marvel is restarting the book AGAIN b) The person will be back in a couple of years.

They won't be worth enough money to even buy one textbookTrev wrote:YES!! It will be worth at least 10k in 20 years! I bought 15.HassanT wrote:I went to my LCS today and they said that someone came in and purchased 14 copies of the Fantastic Four issue. 14 Copies!!!

Well the Fantastic Four issues still seem to be moving. The issues before the quote "death" seem to be moving at $6.99 a pop. There are still about 60 issues out of 300. The DC comics cover stint seems to have been a success because a lot of those issues only have 1-2 copies left on the shelf and some sold through for the lessor known titles like Doc Savage.
I went to the shop on Friday and they were already sold out of Amazing Spider-man. I thing he gets roughly 60-70 copies. Looks like he should increase his orders on this book.
It appears that Green Lantern/Plastic Man #1 bombed out at my shop. There are still roughly 10 copies and I don't think he ordered that much.

When I was at the store the other day, a customer came in to pick up his books and was upset with a mix-up with this pull box. The owner quickly fixed it for him, but the weird thing was what he wanted and why. He wanted 3 copies of Amazing Spider-man #650 because he thinks it will go up in value?! In fact, he was talking about how he was better at pick comics than stocks.BobBretall wrote:Unless that person has 13 friends he's buying for, they should have asked them where they fill their prescription for "stupid pills"........HassanT wrote:I went to my LCS today and they said that someone came in and purchased 14 copies of the Fantastic Four issue. 14 Copies!!!
You buy comics for fun not for investment purposes.
Wow. Talk about misguided and misinformed. Comics are entertainment, not investments.HassanT wrote: When I was at the store the other day, a customer came in to pick up his books and was upset with a mix-up with this pull box. I'm fortunate to have had a couple of comics that made me a few quid over the years
Elseworlds 80 page Giant - Sold for £120
Ultimate Spider-Man #1 - Sold for £90
Chew #1 - Sold for £135
I didn't buy them to sell them on, I bought them to read. But how many comics go up in value nowadays? 1 in 5,000? possibly less? and how may of them are marvel anniversary issues?

At my local shop, the day after FF #587 came out it was gone. The shop automatically held a copy for every pull customer whether they had requested it or not. That's nice, I guess, unless you like to pick your comics off the rack. Thank god for DCBS, you order it and you get it. You don't have to hope to get it off the rack. I saw two guys come in, look for that issue, and walk right back out the door. I saw the same thing happen with that Obama Amazing Spider-Man issue. I don't think that issue is worth much now.

It will take another 5-10 years before it's worthless (well, at least < $10). If you want to snap up some $$, sell yours now while idiots are still paying top $ for it.abysslord wrote:It still sells for around $30-40 on Ebay.IanG wrote:I saw the same thing happen with that Obama Amazing Spider-Man issue. I don't have it, just the original #583. Luckily I sold my duplicate Skullkickers #1s while they were going for $10 a piece I think. I think now they're back to normal.BobBretall wrote:It will take another 5-10 years before it's worthless (well, at least < $10). Things I noticed
Power Man and Iron Fist does not seem to be moving to well.
Nick Spensors Iron Man 2.0 was sold out, I picked up the last copy. I am not sure how much he purchased.
Amazing Spider-man sold out for the third consecutive week on the same day of release. He needs to up these orders
Infestation - All issues have sold out.
Teen Titans - Sold out for the last 3 issues.
Star Wars the Lost Command seems to have sold out at all of the shops in Colorado Springs.

Every week the owner lets me look at the pull customer adds and deletes. There were a ton of deletes this week and the other thing I noticed was one angry customer upset he did not get his pull item Thunder Agents.
