Re: Disappointing DCBS box

I tend not to order the variants from DCBS. Then again, I tend not to order variants period! :) Just add me to the chorus of people whose problems with DCBS have been few, far between, and always quickly and courteously resolved.

Heck, I'm just happy to see Yen Press in there, even if it *is* at the bottom of the heap! Manga's not dead, do you hear me?!? Manga's not dead!!! :)

Re: LET'S TALK: DC 2.0

The audience is shrinking & there's no conclusive evidence of why, but it's at least possible that the increasing price is one of the contributing factors. And I'd modify the above as: The audience is shrinking & there's no conclusive evidence of why, but it's at least possible that the inc...

Re: Dolt! Fool!

While not Silver Age per se, my favorite exchange, which I use all the time, comes from Trigon, a New Teen Titans villain: Trigon: "Find her!" Minion: "We will master...we swear!" Trigon: "Do not swear...DO!!!" I love whipping that one out anytime someone says they'll t...

Re: LET'S TALK: DC 2.0

According to rumors (and a few sites now reporting it as fact) Fialkov walked off Green Lantern because editorial wanted him to kill John Stewart in his storyline (which he'd never planned to do originally). I'm not a big John Stewart fan but...seriously? Even if you take away that he's one of the m...

Trev wrote: I'm sure it's like most jobs -- they *say* he can still write the indie stuff he wants to and they will publish it, but they give him no time to do that.
I bet there's more truth to this than we want to admit.

Marvel Unlimited - App for iOS

I'm sure most of you are aware, but yesterday Marvel released the Marvel Unlimited App for iOS tablets and devices. It's a free download and ties into your Marvel.com account if you're registered with them. As a longtime user of the MDCU, my only real gripe was the lack of portability. Sure, I'll re...

Re: San Diego Comic-Con 2013

Considering the responses and the rapid fire of them I'm convinced. I'm going to have to plan on attending one of these years. Do it at least once. As others have mentioned, everyone goes for different reasons. I prefer smaller conventions to meet artists and get sketches (they have more time and a...

Re: San Diego Comic-Con 2013

This all sounds like a ton of hassle. Is San Diego, oops, sorry, International Comic Con really worth all this? Does it really provide that much more entertainment and/or information than a smaller con where you don't have to sign up for lotteries to get a hotel? San Diego is something - as a comic...

Got my "Thanks for Playing" notice from the hotel lottery people...looks like I'll be hanging in the outskirts and either driving or commuting in. Ah well...at least I'll be there... So you didn't get any room & have to find something in the hinterlands on your own? I went the Mission...

I got my registration in super early as well in the Hotel lottery...just waiting to hear what (if any) I scored. Looks like I'll be heading back to the convention this year.

Re: The Amazing Las Vegas Comic Convention

I don't know if she makes her own costumes. I'm not sure if making one's own costumes is something a lot of the people in the "hot girl" category do. A couple of years back at Phoenix Con I was hosting a panel of Cosplay vs. Comics people Family Feud & when I went down the line of con...
