Southern California Comic Shops?
Over Thanksgiving weekend my friends and I are flying out to California to see some hockey games. We will be in Anaheim on Friday and LA on Saturday. Are there any good comic shops we can hit while we are out there?

Re: San Diego 2009: Trip reports
The Toon Tumblers are always really nice looking. How does Cap look? Does he have the round shield? The Gangs of Camelot sounds interesting. Do you know who is it by? There are 2 caps, a golden age & a Kirby-looking Silver age. Gangs of Camelot is by Jim Heffron, look here for more: http://lawd...

Re: San Diego 2009: Trip reports
Wed (Preview) night Got the "San Diego Con" exclusive Toon Tumbler (Captain America) and also 2 really cool team ones (JLA & JSA). Stopped by with Steve Bryant & the Lawdog folks. I got a REALLY NICE Doc Savage commission from Steve that I'll post up after I get home. Also picked ...

Re: Marvel October solicits - What's exciting?
Full Marvel solicits for October are up on the web: Wow! I am really burned out on all the bad-guy centric stuff going on at Marvel. My Marvel-DC pendulum has swung back to DC, Marvel burned me out on "Dark Reign", lost me by re-booting the Ultimate Universe, and raised my "righteous...

Did the free issue of Savage Dragon help sales?
John,
I was wondering if the Free Comic Book Day issue of Savage Dragon has helped it get a boost in sales. If you haven't recorded the newest Mayo Report, is it possible to cover this?

There is also Heroes 4 Heroes. I think Scott Hinze from FanBoy Radio created it.

Re: Warren Ellis
For my money, Ellis is the best writer in comics today. Like John, I do have my complaints about his "time management." It would appear that he has a tendency to overextend himself and move from project to project. I don't enjoy the delays of the monthlies (I mean, who does?) so I gravita...
